Course Description:
A panel discussion hosted by Alishia Anderson, author of 'Still Here: A memoir of love, loss, and triumph,' with other BIPOC authors who have all had their own experience of loss on the journey to parenthood.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the Unique Experiences of Women of Color: Recognize how cultural, societal, and systemic factors influence the experiences of Women of Color during pregnancy and infant loss.
- Identify Barriers to Support: Explore the obstacles that Women of Color encounter when seeking support and care after loss.
- Implement Culturally Competent Support Strategies: Learn approaches to provide effective and sensitive support that acknowledges and respects cultural differences.
- Promote Advocacy and Awareness: Develop strategies to advocate for equitable care and raise awareness about the specific needs of Women of Color experiencing loss.
