Course Description:

This webinar details the unique experiences of grievers following a perinatal loss, and how meaningful activities are affected through the healing process. It will explore the impact of loss on daily life in areas such as personal care, eating, meal preparation, care of others, home management, spiritual participation, and health management.


Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify common emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses to different types of loss.   
  2. Explain how grief and loss can impact daily functioning across personal and professional domains.    
  3. Apply practical coping strategies to support resilience and adjustment after a significant loss.  
  4. Recognize signs when professional intervention may be necessary to support someone experiencing complicated or prolonged grief.

Presenter Bio:

Dr. Amanda O'Donnell, OTD, OTR/L is an esteemed occupational therapist based in sunny San Diego, California. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from San Diego State University and pursued her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Dr. O'Donnell's passion for grief studies was ignited by personal loss, driving her to honor her mother's journey through pregnancy loss and remember her father and step-brother.
